We’re Changing the Way We Work During the Covid-19 Crisis

8th April 2020

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to unfold in the UK, our main priority is ensuring the safety of everyone who is part of our food bank family–whether it’s someone needing help, someone volunteering their time, or someone making a donation.

As of this week, we are changing the way we work. Our standard centres will be temporarily closing their doors , and instead we are partnering directly with Runnymede Borough Council (RBC) to provide a co-ordinated response to the current crisis in Runnymede and the surrounding area.

If you need help from our Foodbank, you should first call the Council’s Emergency Helpline number, which is 01932 838383. They will triage all calls to direct you to the appropriate service (Health, social care, family support, food etc.). They will have access to our online e-referrals system and can provide the required Foodbank vouchers to those in need.

If you want to support our efforts, we are very grateful for your continued commitment. Please consider making a monetary donation. The impact of the Covid-19 virus on residents in Runnymede is extensive, and providing for people in need is as important as ever. To support our work during this crisis, we are raising critical funds through a specific fundraising appeal: DONATE TODAY.

We also continue to value your food donations, which are accepted at the collection bins available at our local supermarket partners. Some of the supermarkets throughout Runnymede have started to relax buying restrictions, so please consider donating to our collection bins during your standard shop. This week,  we are in particular need of the following items:

  • Tinned fruit
  • Tinned green vegetables
  • Rice
  • Pasta sauce
  • Custard
  • Cereal – medium sized boxes
  • Sponge pudding
  • Egg noodles (not pot noodles)
  • Tinned spaghetti

Thank you for your continued support.
